Tutoring seems
expensive. In the long run it is not. Because of the money and time you are already spending on the course
itself the tutor fee is often money well spent.
A good tutor will:
-
Explain
things in less time than you might need to read the book.
-
Help you
focus on the important parts.
-
Give you
tips for how to study better so you won't need a tutor.
-
Figure out
what went wrong on that last test.
-
Can double
check your homework before you hand it in.
A word about timeliness: Procrastination hurts in science.
Like it says on the shampoo bottle* best results are achieved from frequent use. If it's true of shampoo
it's doubly true of tutoring, get it early and regularly. Even though I am glad to give you a last minute review session before
a final exam, the real way to do it is with regular study sessions, consistant and scheduled well before the test.
Science classes penalize last-minute preparation much more sternly than humanities classes. Weekly tutoring
is the answer for many students.

Some miscellaneous science bits and pieces are
